Semen
Maximus
He has set TTT records at 24 and 36 months of age and passed the 70" mark before he was 41 months old. At 49 months of age he measured 72 1/8" T2T. His offspring consistently carry on his winning genetics and typically show lots of lateral horn growth with huge bases. Max measured 75 5/8 in October of 2008 and is presently 76"+ T2T. |
Pricing Theory
Like most breeders, we use artificial insemination and embryo methods from time to time. And while we prefer to use our own bulls as much as possible, we have secured supplies of leading bulls from other programs for our own use.
When we first got into the longhorn business, we discovered that there exist at least two main pricing strategies which are 180 degrees apart. One theory calls for bargain prices so that breeders can afford to breed lots of cattle and make many babies. The other says that if you price your semen at a premium price then it will only be used on the better cattle, hence you have fewer offspring of a supposedly higher quality. We embrace neither of these approaches, preferring instead to price the semen at a price we believe is fair to all involved. As a result, you may see some prices below that are unique, and hopefully all of them will be attractive to potential users.
