This multi colored bull calf is a full brother to the famous Gunman bull, a product of our embryo transfer program.  He is owned in partnership with Buckhorn Cattle Co. (Buck & Sharon Adams) and he will be bred to a variety of heifers from both herds. He predicts to go to the mid 60's.

Gun Smoke is presently at 72.5 " TTT and 87" Total horn.  He weighs roughly 1,900 pounds.  He is out of the famous Watson 83 bull by a daughter of Emperor named Delta Judy, who was 72” when she died unexpectedly at age seven. This two time Horn Showcase winner throws colorful calves with lots of horn growth. (See his daughter Khaki under heifers).

This 2004 Horn Showcase champion is a Gunman grandson by a 65" Butler dam.  He has set TTT records at 24 and 36 months of age and passed the 70" mark before he was 41 months old.  His offspring consistently carry on his winning genetics and typically show lots of lateral horn growth with huge bases.  TLBAA A.I. Max won his division in the 2005 Horn Showcase Show measuring 70 7/8" T2T. At present he measures 75 1/4" T2T.

We bought a half interest in this fine sire from Pace Cattle Co. because we like his color, his size and his ability to put horn on his calves.  This is a rare bull who, like his father, has the consistent ability to sire really big horned progeny from all types of cows.  In fact he may be the first sire to have a son that was over 70" before he was 40 months old.  We are using him primarily to increase the Gunman influence in our herd.  TLBAA A.I. This young Phenomenon/Gunman grandson won his Total Horn class at the 2003 Horn Showcase and was second in the TTT competition with 64.25" at 35 months old, (just 1/8" less than Farlap Chex).    He won his Total Horn class at the 2004 Horn Showcase with 77.5" and placed second in his TTT class with 66.75".  TLBAA A.I. Certification No. 614.  This fine bull was 68 5/8" when an injury in July 2005 forced us to put him down. His offspring are really something.

This huge bull out of The Shadow by a Zhivago/Bail News cow we own is “Arguably one of the best horn producers in service today” (this according to a breeder who owns another famous bull).  Now 70 1/8” he was the first to break the 64” TTT barrier at 36 months.  He throws calves that are consistently fancy that show spectacular horn growth at 3 years and older.  This legendary bull is owned by Lazy L Longhorns, Bill Hudson and Joe Valentine. The calf's color and horn shape are a carbon copy of his famous brother, Gunman. He measured 58 1/2" T2Tat 29 months and predicts to have the potential for 72" T2T. We have high hopes for this Unique Junior Herd Sire.
